Third Wednesday of Every Month
Join us every month for coffee, donuts, networking, and introductions to our incredible member organizations.
The Confab, CLA’s oldest tradition, is a free event open to all with an interest in literacy. Each session includes presentations from two member organizations, announcements about upcoming projects and collaboration opportunities, time to catch up with contacts and make new connections, and tours of the Literacenter for new attendees interested in membership.
This month, join us for a special Confab taking place at the Weinberg/Newton Art Gallery celebrating literacy, collaboration, and art. Member organizations Designers for Learning and The Chicago Home Tutor will present and give the community the opportunity to hear some of the amazing work they’re doing to improve literacy in Chicago. After these presentations, we invite all attendees to stay and check out the literacy-themed exhibit in the gallery!
The CLA is proud to be partnering with the Weinberg/Newton Art Gallery to put together The Tip of My Tongue, an art exhibit aiming to draw out the complexities of language as a tool not only for communication but also for connection, discovery, and growth. Through sound, color, book arts, and text, six Chicago-based artists provide access points to a multiplicity of voices, ideas, viewpoints, and conversations.
