Join us in July for our first Walk for Literacy!

The Literassociates’ Walk for Literacy aims to raise money for the CLA’s mission of creating a 100% literate Chicago.

Participants are encouraged to raise $100 each to participate in the 5k. Walkers can fundraise together in teams for support and to pool fundraising efforts. To start or join a team, check out the official page here. Each participant will receive a GiveLively page to solicit donations. These pages will be connected to a team page where members can track the fundraising progress of all teammates. All donations must be submitted by July 24th 11:59pm.

We hope to spread the CLA’s mission and your reason for walking with us! Feel free to share pictures of your walk using the hashtag #WalkForLiteracy on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and don’t forget to tag the CLA!

Due to COVID-19 and social distancing practices, the Walk for Literacy is DIY. Participants must complete their 5k between July 18-24. There is no required route and participants can complete the 5k anywhere they choose. Walkers are free to make their own route, or plan a route based on Chicago’s literary landmarks.
